Atheist ambitions
The ambitions of Michael Newdow, victorious plaintiff in the Pledge of Allegiance case, do not stop at stripping every single reminder of God from every single molecule of America’s public spaces. According to columnist David Limbaugh, Newdow wants to banish all traces of gender from the English language as well. His idea is to replace “he” and “she” with “re,” “his” and “hers” with “rees,” and “him” and “her” with “erm,” a project he apparently describes in all seriousness. It’s no accident that the same person who wants to remove any expression of God from our society also wants to erase any indication of sexual difference from our language. The world happens to be differentiated both hierarchically (God is higher than man, civilization is higher than barbarism, excellence is higher than mediocrity, and so on) and horizontally (the sexes are different, cultures are different, countries are different, individuals are different). The left seeks to eliminate both types of differentiation, because both stand in the way of the left’s vision of a humanity perfectly equal and perfectly free, with no borders between them and no truth above them.
Instead of hating the atheist Newdow, we should be grateful to him. By the very thoroughness of his attack on the structure of existence, he only succeeds in demonstrating the truth that he denies—the truth he hates but will never be able to destroy.

Also, it looks like he lied about his daughter’s “suffering” she, and her mother, are Christians—and Newdow was, or is in the process of, divorcing her mother. Posted by: John on July 8, 2002 11:04 PM |
