Still letting in terrorists

The State Department continues its efforts to allow possible Mideast terrorists to enter the United States. When the Justice Department requested that non-immigrant visas be denied to people who may be terrorists, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage wrote back that the belief that a non-immigrant visa applicant “may pose a threat to national security… is insufficient [grounds] for a consular officer to deny a visa.” State is striving to keep the visa-issuing power in its own hands and not let the Homeland Security Department take over that responsibility. Journalist Joel Mowbray says the American people need to persuade the government otherwise.
