“The Mexican Constitution guarantees protection for its citizens, even if they’re outside the borders,” sez the new head of Mexico’s Office of Non-Assimilation. The article dutifully notes that “some US conservatives” object. Posted by at September 27, 2002 05:47 PM | Send Comments
I wonder if the Mexican constitution (which probably has all the force of law that the old Soviet constitution did in the USSR) will extend to prevent the murder trial of the 4 Mexicans involved in the massacre at a Nebraska bank yesterday? Posted by: Carl on September 27, 2002 6:56 PMShould those murderers receive death sentences, or any punishment the Mexican government deems too harsh (actually, they probably think conviction for merely killing gringos, if that is what the victims were, is too harsh), you will see the full weight of Mexican diplomacy deployed to change the result. Those who think Mexican diplomacy does not amount to anything against The World’s Sole Superpower should reconsider. One of the least-told tales of our strange times is the extent to which the Mexican government is active, within the United States, in the subversion of America and the destruction of the meaning of our citizenship. These efforts (please see www.vdare.com for extensive coverage of them) are surprisingly successful and totally unresisted by the federal government. As I have commented elsewhere, when it comes to U.S. policy vis-a-vis Mexico, it seems the only way to understand it is to realize that GW Bush is that country’s leading agent of influence here.
