Little, if any, rights?

Don’t believe a word of it. Local television journalist Nichole Vrsansky maintains that many of the reported 17,000 immigrants in Winnebago County, Illinois have “little, if any, rights.” I suppose this is true if you don’t count the freedom of assembly, the right to petition the government, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, free public education on terms equal to other residents in the community, freedom from race, age and sex discrimination and, well, you get the point. The story also makes the incredible claim that “not one [illegal alien] can go to college.” The state of Illinois has not, of course, declared that illegal immigrants may not attend to college. Neither has any other state in the Union. A few prohibit illegal aliens from getting tuition reductions for state colleges but that’s not quite the same thing, is it?
