Over the cliff with the Supreme Court
The Democrats, Howard Phillips once said, will take us over the cliff at 80 miles and hour. The Republicans will stay within the speed limit, but they’ll still take us over the cliff. Now that I’ve read the majority opinion in the Texas sodomy case, the question occurs to me: which of those categories does the U.S. Supreme Court belong to? Let’s see: Justices Kennedy and O’Connor were appointed by Ronald Reagan, Stevens was appointed by Nixon and Souter by Bush I. I’m trying to figure out why Democrats are always raising the spectre of rabid conservative judges appointed by Republicans when Republican presidents have dutifully appointed rabidly liberal judges in addition to a conservative here and there in order to toss a bone or two to their voter base. Must be a fundraising gimmick. Lest we forget, Bush II has appointed Marc Racicot his campaign manager. This was after the discovery of Racicot’s secret meeting with the HRC, a notorious radical gay leftist group. Apparently the “surrender monkey” Jonah Goldberg had a nice meeting with the HRC as well. One positive thing that can be said Democrats is that we know exactly where they stand. They are clearly flying the flag of leftism/Tranzism, and treason. In contrast, the Republicans are busy spewing platitudes and conservative-sounding phrases while they simultaneouly advance an agenda that is substantially the same as that of the Democrats. Can someone tell me why I should bother to vote any more? It’s loooking a lot like Henry Ford’s color options for the Model T: “you can have any color you want as long as it’s black.” phillips’ old comment is in the future tense, we are now in that future. but as they say in the rock climbing business, no one ever died from falling, it’s the landing, so fasten your seatbelt kiddies….
