The malign power of the liberal media
While military expert Ralph Peters’s commentaries on the Iraq war have been most useful, he always seemed to be over his head when writing about larger social and political issues. But in today’s New York Post Peters offers an incisive critique of a key aspect of modern liberalism: the malign role played by the major liberal news media. The news media claim to be neutral and to have no power, he writes, when in fact they often exercise a decisive influence over contemporary events. Moreover, with regard to their outrageously selective and negative coverage of the reconstruction of Iraq, their exercise of that influence is deeply damaging to America. It is, in fact, tantamount to treason. Posted by Lawrence Auster at October 08, 2003 03:58 PM | Send Email entry |
