VFR comments feature fixed
The comments feature is working again, thanks to adjustments made by Jim Kalb. Everyone is welcome to start posting comments again.
Unfortunately, in order to get the comments back, we’ve had to eliminate the comments subscriptions, whereby a user can have the comments in a particular thread sent to him automatically via e-mail. I’m very sorry about this, as some VFR participants have availed themselves of this convenience from time to time. (As the author of the blog, I still receive e-mails of all posted comments.) The subscription feature is not part of MovableType, the software program that sets up VFR, but comes from a third-party add-in. When our hosting service, Hostica, recently upgraded their software, the subscriptions add-in no longer worked in sync with Hostica and prevented comments from being posted altogether. So we’ve had to abandon the part in order to save the whole. Email entry |
