The war resolution that Kerry and Edwards voted for
Also, lest anyone forget, Senators Kerry and Edwards both voted for the Congressional resolution in October 2002 that authorized the president to use force against Iraq as he deemed necessary. Notwithstanding Kerry’s endlessly repeated lie on this matter, the resolution did not say or remotely imply that the president was only authorized to use force on the condition that he had assembled an international coalition against Iraq or that the United Nations Security Council supported military action. In fact, the resolution stipulated just the opposite. NRO has a useful article detailing Kerry’s broadside attacks against … his OWN legislative record: the war resolution, the Patriot Act, the No Child Left Behind Act, so on. As a senator he has strongly supported these bills and more. As a presidential candidate, he has denounced these same bills as though they were the acts of Nazis out to destroy democracy. The simple fact is that stolid, pompous John F. Kerry, the once (and perhaps future) favorite of the Democratic liberal establishment, is one of the biggest liars in American political history. http://www.nationalreview.com/lowry/lowry200401260838.asp Posted by: Lawrence Auster on January 26, 2004 12:20 PM |
