ABC fesses up: We’re liberals
Here’s a historic document: For the first time, a major media organ, ABC News, admits it has a systematic liberal bias that informs all its assumptions about the world. (I’m providing the link to Opinion Journal, since the original item at the ABC News blog seems temporary.) Posted by Lawrence Auster at February 10, 2004 06:28 PM | Send Comments
Interesting, too, in what it says about differing preoccupations. The issue that I suspect most VFR regulars believe is most important today, immigration, is not even mentioned. HRS Posted by: Howard Sutherland on February 11, 2004 9:53 AMOf course immigration is not mentioned. The purpose of that document was to describe liberal beliefs as distinct from conservative beliefs. But today’s liberals and conservatives share an unquestioned belief in immigration. So immigration is not even a topic. Then they hide behind the laissez-faire skirt of the First Amendment. A classic case of Robert Conquest’s “law” that people are most conservative in the areas they know best.
