How do we defeat our enemies, revisited

For some historical perspective once again, here, from early September 2003, is one of my earlier blog entries where I asked, how do we win in Iraq, short of, as one intemperate Bush supporter at Lucianne.com wanted to do, killing every militant Moslem in the world? I kept asking the question, and found no answer. The mental paralysis of Bush and his supporters in their “stay the course” mode has been going on for quite a long time now. And here is Democratic partisan blogger Joshua Marshal’s picture of Bush absolutely lost in the current crisis.

It would be easy to impune Josh Mica Marshall’s piece you linked on “Bush’s embracing venality” as being “another frustrated Democrat at work”. If one takes note of all the cartoons on the left column of Mr. Marshall’s site, it is fairly obvious that Bush cannot get a fair shake there. There is one very strong feeling I come away with having read the column—and that is a real “depression” settling over the Demo camp as if to admit that “it’s over, and we’ve (the Demos) have lost.”

Marshall seems to be trying to muster support for Bush’s opponent without mentioning his name and without saying a thing about Kerry. If he’s preaching to the Demo/left-wing chorus, he’s in good company. But misery loves company, and the Demos are currently QUITE “miserable” because the country’s focus has turned to our boys, the troops, and because Kerry is self-imploding.

What is strangely ironic about the “Demo disaster” occuring is that it is happening when Bush is in trouble with his OWN base while being so villified in the Press and by so many like Mr. Marshall! So, that tells me that Kerry is in the process of bringing disaster to The Democrat Party. As Mr. Auster said, and I paraphrase, “Any decent Demo candidate would have no trouble beating Bush this year.” The problem is, the Demos have Kerry and he’s not about to step down.

For me, I am still hoping conservatives will “bolt” the GOP after November and begin forming a new party. Bush is certainly going to push hard from amnesty for illegals next year and continue moving to the left. That was the subject I entered into VFR with months ago. Hardly a word has been mentioned about it (a new party) here for some time.

Perhaps it is time for George Bush to resign now. His Presidency appears to have little purpose left other than reelection.
