Gonzales hearings

Boy, is Alberto Gonzales unimpressive. A jejeune-seeming individual with a stupid-sounding accent (but at least it’s not a Mexican accent), this is not a person of stature. This is a person whose whole career has been as the creature of George W. Bush. Like Condoleezza Rice, he seems like a reasonably competent human being, but there is no distinction here, nothing that stands out as making him qualified for the high position of Attorney General. This is blatant affirmative action combined with blatant cronyism.
