Condoleezza Rice, 1930: Make Hitler the leader of Germany, and he’ll drop his Nazism!

A reader brings into sharp relief Condoleezza Rice’s asinine and dangerous comment that if the Hezbollah take power in Lebanon, the mere fact of their having government responsibilities will wean them from their terrorism:

Your analysis of the Oslo and Hezbollah “peace processes” is right on target. When Hitler became Chancellor of Germany the liberals of that day said that having responsibility for fixing potholes, collecting garbage, attempting to fix the economy would turn Hitler into a traditional politician and also result in his being removed from office, either by a “No Confidence” vote or in the next election. BOY, did he ever fool them. How naive can the Western liberal intellectual class be.
