Tancredo rising
Immigration restrictionist, defender of Western civilization, and most welcome bane of the Bush administration, Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado, my write-in candidate in the 2004 election, has been profiled in The New Republic. The piece, by Michael Crowley, is almost comical in the way it mixes rote put-downs of its subject (repeatedly referring to Tancredo’s “obsession” and “fixation” on immigration, his “demagoguery,” and so on and so on) with facts and quotes that don’t at all support the negative characterizations. Such schizophrenic writing is typical of liberals who are honest about facts, but still mired in their liberalism. The article, in TNR’s March 28 to April 4 issue, is only available online to subscribers. Posted by Lawrence Auster at April 02, 2005 10:36 AM | Send Email entry |
