As someone who is seriously considering conversion to Roman Catholicism, albeit via the traditionalist Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), I managed not to be offended by your comments about Pope John Paul II, which were a refreshing contrast to the non-stop adulation by the media. While some (not me) might criticize your timing, I don’t think traditionalist Catholics would disagree with anything you wrote; indeed, traditionalist commentators have been making some of the same points for years. It is tragic that most Catholics cannot see the dire situation as clearly as you can. I would recommend the book “The Great Facade,” by Christopher Ferrara and Thomas Woods, which explains the problems of the post-Vatican II Church in detail in a style accessible to non-Catholics.
