Conservatives: More anti-MSM than anti-Moslem

Here is one of the most important insights coming out of the Newsweek riots, from an American VFR reader living in the Mideast:

What’s amazing about this Newsweek/Koran thing is how blind rage by conservatives against the media makes them willing to toss Newsweek to the wolves and set a dangerous precedent.

On Liberty Post, one poster said that the Muslims had the right to sue Newsweek. Well, I can see how the Guantanamo guards might have the right to do so, but why the Muslims of Afghanistan and Pakistan? But another poster hit the nail on the head when he wrote: “By implying ‘they (Newsweek) caused this to happen with their false story’, they are implying that the reaction would be appropriate if the story had been true.” It’s as if we accept the right of Muslims to riot if they are offended by anything.

The reader sent a follow-up:

It’s still going on at Liberty Post. One poster even said that Isikoff should be tried for murder!

It’s simply amazing, their bitterness toward the mainstream media justifies their excusal of Muslim mayhem.
