Jefferson too macho to be ambassador, says Sen. Boxer

Given his damaging paper trail, with all those belligerent phrases about “self-evident” truths and “dissolving” our connection with other nations, it’s not surprising that Thomas Jefferson came in for some pretty rough treatment from the Democrats on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee last week concerning his nomination to be U.S. ambassador to France.
