What PTUI means

I’m informed by readers that PTUI (used by the blogger Ptah after the name of Muhammad) is a comic book sound effect for spitting. Could be. All I can say is, when I was a kid and an avid fan of the DC comics books—Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Justice League of America—they didn’t feature the sound of spitting. I guess I really missed something.
