Google maps
In looking for maps of New Orleans, I’ve discovered Google maps which are by far the best I’ve seen on the Web, changing zoom settings and orientation virtually instantly. At Google or in your Google toolbar, type in the name of the place you’re interested in, followed by “map,” and the Google map link will come up. Also, today’s New York Times has an excellent map of the city clearly showing the different neighborhoods and their altitudes above sea level. I’m told that Google Earth is much better, though you need Windows 2000 or XP for that. Posted by Lawrence Auster at August 31, 2005 12:42 PM | Send Email entry |
