The puzzle over what happened in New Orleans

Very strange. I haven’t read any of this in detail, but according to this article, reporter Brian Thevenot, who wrote a gruesome, graphic account of dead and murdered bodies in a freezer at the New Orleans Convention Center (I remember reading it myself at the time), is the same reporter who is now saying that reports of mayhem in New Orleans were false or exaggerated, without mentioning his own previous reporting.
