In 1973 the then 27-year-old Carl Gustaf, the youngest of the Bernadotte monarchs, ascended the throne of Sweden. Carl XVI Gustaf took as his motto, “For Sweden—in Keeping With the Times.”

Inspiring, isn’t it?
