Certain coincidences just can’t be dismissed

Ilana Mercer wrote that people should lay off Pat Robertson for his comment that Ariel Sharon was punished by God for his withdrawal from Gaza. I wrote to her:

Robertson is awfully silly, but still …

Rabin, a tough old soldier elected on the basis that he would not negotiate with the Palestinians, launched the “peace process,” went to a rally in Jerusalem with a bunch of leftwing idiots where he sang peace songs with them, and was shot dead as he walked to his car.

Sharon, a tough old soldier elected on the basis that he would not hand over Gaza, handed over Gaza, and three months later was felled by a stroke …

Kinda makes ya think, huh?
