It’s a dirty job, but somebody’s got to do it
Folks, believe me, I really don’t want to keep writing about Mark Steyn so much (I posted two items about him in the past day, for example), but readers keep sending me stuff on him which is too good (or rather too bad) to ignore. And I do think it serves a salutary purpose. Phony conservatism—designed to turn conservatives into liberals while they still think of themselves as conservatives—is one of the major political phenomena of our time, and the mutual sycophancy that is common among establishment conservatives means that only unaligned individuals like myself will subject popular “conservatives” such as Steyn to the criticism they deserve.
