Feeling the truth
For five years Bush’s devoted conservative base couldn’t see the truth about him, but now that they
feel the truth, they
see it as well. A reader sent the below extracts from a
Lucianne.com discussion with the comment, “The few Bush supporters remaining at Lucianne.com no longer have to stumble accidentally upon VFR to find the truth.”

I’ll never forget listening to Bush Senior’s speech where he spoke of a “new world order” and the need for a “kinder gentler” Republican party. He insulted Ronaldus Maximus and did great damage to the Republican party. But I believed he was speaking metaphorically when he said “new world order.”
Boy was I wrong. These Bush’s are all one worlders to whom borders should be eliminated. They do not understand that nationalism is the only bulwark against barbarism.
I loved Dubya and bled for him in 2000 and 2004. He has betrayed me. He has betrayed his oath of office (to uphold the laws of the United States and the Constitution). He has betrayed the Republican party. He has betrayed the conservative cause. He is worse than an empty suit. He is worse than Nelson Rockefeller. Slowly even his staunchest supporters realize that this guy is either the stoopidest guy to occupy the office of POTUS or he is devilishly duplicitous.

#21—You’re right. And look at the state we’re in now. Voting for the ‘lesser of the evils’ still gets us evil.

“ Part of my job is to lead, and I did last night,” Mr. Bush said.
Well, Mr. President, I too have bled for your policies, argued your stances, pushed the War on Terror, got the vote out in two of your elections and even defended Halliburton, but I have come to the final crossroad, Sir.
As of now, you, Congress, the Democrats and the Republicans don’t speak for me anymore.
