Iran’s new dress code

Sunday, 1:44 a.m. According to the Canada National Post, several informed persons (but not the Iranian government itself) have cast doubt on the story that such a law was passed.

Concerning the amazing news that Iran will require Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians to wear special colors and markings on their clothing to identify which religion they belong to, Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthall Center says: “This is reminiscent of the Holocaust … Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis.” As Andrew Bostom points out, Hier in his Judeo-centric response to the issue fails to grasp what is really at work here: the timeless Islamic persecution of all non-Muslims. Furthermore, as Amir Taheri writes in the New York Post (via Powerline), all Muslims in Iran will also be subjected to a uniform dress code. The idea is that all Muslims should dress alike, creating a complete “visual equality” among them in preparation for the return of the Hidden Imam.

Hmm, boy, what great people to share a planet with!
