Steyn’s defeatism, again
In late 2005 and early 2006 I wrote a great deal about Mark Steyn’s defeatist attitude toward Islam, a defeatism that Steyn somehow gulled many conservatives into thinking was Churchillian defiance (though some readers have told me that thanks to my critiques of Steyn they have realized what a phony he is). I think I’ve also noted, more recently, a couple of hopeful signs of greater realism on Steyn’s part about the immigration problem, at least the illegal immigration problem. But all through those articles, I had forgotten to reference something Steyn wrote in 2003 about Muslims in the West that was one of the most defeatest and cynical comments he ever made.
