Attorney for the Devil

I haven’t written anything so far about the Great White Witch Hunt that’s been going on for the last couple of months in Durham, North Carolina. What is there to say about such evil and insanity, except that here is another example of liberalism at work? Fortunately, so much evidence has piled up indicating there is no basis for the rape charges that all kinds of people are calling on District Attorney Nifong to drop the case. In a just world, Nifong would be the one facing criminal charges.

This is in a way even worse than the Tawana Brawley hoax. Brawley and Sharpton claimed that several law enforcement people had gang-raped her, but none was arrested. In the Duke case, three men have been arrested and indicted. It is now clearly a complete hoax. Steve Sailer has pointed out that the NY Times almost never covers crime in New York City, but had dozens of articles on an alleged crime in North Carolina. Several black athletes have been charged with assault and rape in recent weeks, without any of those cases becoming national stories.
