The latest PC twist on race: natural selection makes us believe (falsely) that race matters

Niall Ferguson, a fashionable historian transplanted from Britain to Harvard, echoes as though it were the wisdom of the ages the fashionable liberal truth that racial differences don’t matter, or rather (he adds a little qualification that makes him stand out from the PC crowd) they matter very little, much less than people throughout the ages have imagined they do. Steve Sailer neatly cuts him up into pieces:

OK, let me see if I’ve got this straight. According to this highly publicized historian:

- A. Racial groups don’t really exist biologically.

- B. But we “seem designed” to act as if they do exist.

- C. So, apparently, we evolved via natural selection under the pressure of something that doesn’t actually exist but still acts upon us physically.
