Dutch government falls over Hirsi Ali
The coalition government of the Netherlands fell two weeks ago over Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk’s maladroit handling of the Ayaan Hirsi Ali affair. The end came when a minor party belonging to the coalition withdrew its support from the government over its defense of Verdonk. A Dutch blogger, describing Ali as “the religion basher from Somalia,” sums up the story. Kidist, a Canadian VFR reader of Ethiopian descent, writes:
All I can conclude is that true to her modus operandi, Hirsi Ali left leaving behind a blaze, but with her ego and narcissism intact. I don’t envy the American Enterprise Institute their new employee. Posted by Lawrence Auster at July 14, 2006 01:21 PM | Send Email entry |
