Immediate situation unclear; larger situation alarmingly clear

It’s not known how the 48-hour Israeli cessation of air operations resulting from the civilian deaths in Qana will affect the apparent Israeli ground operations that the Stratfor website reported on yesterday. Stratfor itself (the name is short for strategic forecasting) has not had any follow-up on yesterday’s story of a major ground action. One thing is clear, however: the United States, world opinion, and Israel’s own liberalism make it impossible for Israel to conduct a real war.
