From “peaceful” conversion to jihadist mass destruction, Islam is a single continuum

Muslim are commanded by Allah in the Koran and in Islamic law to give non-Muslims three choices: to convert to Islam, to submit to Islamic political rule as humiliated dhimmis, or to die. (Pagans and polytheists are given only two choices: conversion or death.) Throughout Islamic history, calls for conversion have typically preceded all-out jihad warfare. Of course, even Muslims not directly involved in jihad war are still commanded to convert non-Muslims to Islam by persuasion, demographic infiltration, and other “peaceful” means. With these things in mind, consider the range of statements we’ve been hearing lately from Muslims. First, an American woman who converted to Islam writes:

I was born and raised here. This is my land. I’ll raise my children here, Insha’allah and probably be buried here as well. I knew that by accepting Islam I was declaring that America needed to do so too. America, my home, would naturally become an Islamic country one day. There is no other way to think if you are a truly conscientious believer in Allah.

Then she describes her experience of Islamized Michigan which she hopes will one day be true of all of America:

I used to have contact with a unique community in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. It was originally settled by Yemeni immigrants about ten years ago. Those Muslims could have gone the way of others and lost their Iman. But as you’ll see, something quite different occurred.

I still remember my first visit to the area fondly. I was attending a meeting of the newly-formed local ICNA group and had never been exposed to the place before. What I saw amazed me. I was elated, in fact! Children were saying salaams to me on the street and women (in hijab) were walking around and going places leisurely and confidently. I saw Muslims who were Arab, Black and Bengali. But what took the cake for me was when out of nowhere I heard the adhan outdoors over a loudspeaker. They fought the city council and won the right to do adhan five times a day in the community!

Something clicked in the minds of these people. The Yemenis formed a master plan and determined to stay together. They set up a fund and slowly bought one house after another, moving Muslim families in and drug-infested kafirs out, until they literally had thousands of Muslims businesses and stores in the heart of the community and bought a huge Catholic church and made it into a beautiful masjid. They even made a small community health care center!

When we were leaving our meeting and walking to the masjid for salat, it was the most beautiful sight: from all directions, men, women and children, of all races, were going to their masjid as a community. I’ve never been to Muslim country before, but I’ll tell you this much, I felt as if I were in an Islamic country. And this wasn’t Egypt or India or Turkey. It was right here—in America.

So, that’s the peaceful vision of Islamization, the vision that President Bush and his mainstream conservative supporters who keep talking about how we’re in a “war” would apparently have no problem with, since their only problem is with terrorists and “Islamic Fascists,” not with Islam itself, the religion of peace. Believing in the non-discriminatory admission of Muslim immigrants into this country, and also believing in complete freedom for all religions including Islam, they could have no possible objection to seeing more and more parts of America become Islamicized as described above, and, inevitably, come under sharia law as well.

But of course, the “peaceful” Muslims are not separate from the “violent” Muslims, but are part of the same continuum and the same community. With that in mind, read Reuter’s story about another American convert to Islam:

DUBAI (Reuters)—Al Qaeda called on non-Muslims especially in the United States to convert to Islam and abandon their “misguided” ways or else suffer, according to a video tape posted on a Web site on Saturday.

The speaker was identified as Azzam the American, also known as Adam Yahiye Gadahn—an Islamic convert from California wanted for questioning by the FBI and who U.S. authorities believe to be involved in an information campaign for al Qaeda.

“To Americans and the rest of Christendom we say, either repent (your) misguided ways and enter into the light of truth or keep your poison to yourself and suffer the consequences in this world and the next,” Gadahn said in English.

He appeared in the video dressed in a white turban and seated in front of a computer and books.

Al Qaeda’s second-in-command Ayman al-Zawhari made a brief statement at the beginning of the tape—dated September 2006—urging viewers to listen carefully to the message, entitled: “An Invitation to Islam.”

Going beyond vague allusions to the “consequences in this world” that we will suffer if we don’t convert, the Palestinian group that kidnapped Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig has come out with the pure, unadorned jihad message, announcing that they will kidnap all non-Muslims who enter Muslim neighborhoods and kill them unless they convert or pay the jizyah tax (though it’s not clear how a freed hostage would pay the jizyah). The threat seems to reference Muslim neightborhoods in the Mideast, but will doubtless soon encompass Muslim neighborhoods in the West as well, given that Muslim groups in the West imitate their Mideastern brethren.

Looks like there’s more than the smell of fall leaves in the air—the atmosphere reeks of forced conversion. First Ahmadinejad writes a letter to Bush basically telling him to convert or die, then the two Fox reporters are forced to convert, and now Zawahiri is also coming out with a new tape demanding that the West convert or die. And the Palis are joining the amen chorus. Obviously they are all singing from the same song book. These sorts of calls to convert in history have always preceded an all out war to conquer lands that refused the invitation. Steve and Olaf were just the beginning—the foretaste of things to come. Makes building a huge mosque on the grounds of Quantico to the tune of millions a little foolish, dontcha think?

Since Islam is a single continuum, and since parts of this continuum are threatening us with mass destruction, what should our response be? A reader writes:

A recent CNN documentary about Bin Laden said Muslim priests approve Al Qaeda killing 10,000,000 people if the victims are given an option of converting to Islam before the attack. The new video from Al Zawahiri inviting Americans to convert to Islam indicates a major attack on the U.S. There is little or no criticism or even questioning of these statements from the Islamic world and they are all collectively responsible for the consequences of their active or tacit support of jihad and terrorism. As in the Cold War, defense against WMD is credible deterrence, a warning that our response to nuclear attack will be nuclear retaliation against any group or nation giving material or ideological support for jihad. A strong warning is needed to deter an attack. At the least, it would force an open discussion about Muslims’ support for terrorism and whether our threat of retaliation is justified.

The reader also expresses his concern that there may be an attack on New York City on September 11.
