A major defeat for Jorge W. Busherón
Immigration control activists agree that the 700 mile border fence mandated by the Congress and now signed into law by the president is far short of the totality of what is needed to handle the illegal immigration disaster—but it is an enforcement-only bill, and Busherón did sign it, thus giving up (during the present Congress) on the “comprehensive” open-borders initiative that has been the single most passionate object of his presidency. The question now is, does Busherón, who at this moment is out campaigning for Republican congressional candidates, really want the Republicans to to win? After all, a GOP victory in the House would assure the continued defeat of Busherón’s open-borders dreams in the next Congress, while a Democratic victory would mean the opposite.
