Times quietly lets us know it supports Hillary not Obama
I predict the New York Times is going to favor Hillary Clinton over Barak Obama, based on the Times’ article about Omaba’s days as president of the Harverd Law Review. Over and over he’s described as someone who is nice, who gets along with everyone, who lets all people feel he agrees with them, and who has no views of his own that anyone can discern. Both the Times and the students and professors who knew Obama at Harvard suggest these are not qualities of a president. Certainly the similarity between Obama’s m.o. at Harvard 15 years ago and his m.o. today is striking, suggesting an inherent limit to his political talents. If he does not go beyond his familiar routine of making thoughtful-sounding, conciliatory statements on every issue under the sun without laying out a position of his own (other than, of course, his consistent devotion to the left side of Democratic opinion), it’s hard to see how his candidacy can go all the way, notwithstanding his pleasing personal qualities.
