Tweedledeeversity and … tweedledeeversity

Last year, Nicholas Sarkozy, the presidential candidate of the “right-wing” Union for a Popular Majority, called for a France that is “Multiple, Colored and Spiced.” Last week Ségolène Royal, presidential candidate of the Socialist Party, made the case for a France that is “multiple, colored, mixed and very French, if it knows how to be faithful to its values… The France of tomorrow, like that of yesterday, will be named ‘diversity.’”
