Tornado kills eight students at Alabama high school
The tornado went through very quickly but it collapsed an interior wall which caused the deaths. However, from the photo in the New York Times, the entire building appears to be wrecked, and the wonder is that anyone inside the school survived. The total deaths caused by 31 tornados on Thursday were ten in Alabama, nine in Georgia,—six of which were at a trailer park—and one in Missouri. Given that the tornados were bad enough to kill 14 people at just two locations, it seems remarkable that there weren’t many hundreds of deaths across the stricken region, which stretched from the deep South to Minnesota.
