Open-borders genius strikes again

In the previous blog entry on brainy Clint Bolick, 2006 winner of the $250,000 Bradley Prize, I forgot to mention this whopper. Bolick wrote:

The immigration bill is far from perfect, but it is the best that those who support strict enforcement possibly can hope for in this or any Congress in the foreseeable future. Notably, according to a New York Times poll, the principles reflected in the bill are supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans. [Italics added.] The alternative is to allow the issue to fester, which is a recipe not only for continued societal division, but for an ever-shrinking share of the vote for Republicans.

Bolick thus gives credence to the New York Times’ Orwellian May 25 front page story with its audacious yet transparent lie that any intelligent 12 year-old could have seen through by simply reading the article, since information about the poll given later in the piece indicated the exact opposite of the claims made in the headline and lead paragraphs. See my discussion of it. See also the actual wording of the poll question, which gave respondents a false choice between “deporting” illegal aliens and “giving them a chance to apply for citizenship.” Such a loaded question pushed respondents to prefer the second answer, which the Times then interpreted in the big-lettered, top-of-the-front-page headline as “Immigration Bill Provisions Gain Wide Support in Poll.” Propagandizing for open borders, the leftist Times told a Big Lie worthy of Big Brother, and Brainy Bolick of Bradleybucks believed it.
