Independence Day

Happy Independence Day, Mr. Auster,

On New Years Day I sent you a an e-mail which reflected how demoralized I was about the state of Our Nation and the state of The West. What a difference half a year makes! Obviously we haven’t achieved victory—not by a long shot. But reading how mainstream conservatives have begun to awaken to many of the issues you have addressed does encourage me greatly. Six months ago I never would have thought I’d read what Jonah Goldberg or Steyn has written about immigration and Islam. We still have a long road ahead, but again, this is encouraging.
