Is the Vatican moving in a traditionalist direction?

Responding to my skeptical take on the Vatican’s recent “warning” about Islam, Vincent Chiarello points to indications that Pope Benedict may indeed be moving against Vatican II doctrines, including those that approve Islam. Be sure to see Edward G.’s spirited and skeptical reply to Vincent. Then a Catholic calls me arrogant for my criticisms of the pope, and I reply to that, adding a lengthy list of my articles criticizing the last two popes. Vincent then replies that Edward and I fail to appreciate the time scale in which positive change in the Church appears.
