… Caroline is supporting Barack Obama for president. Maybe it bothered the then-nine-year old Caroline her when her father, the then-mayor of New York City, tried to force her mother, her brother and herself out of Gracie Mansion in 2000 so that the mayor’s then-girl friend, now his third wife, could move in and get the perks of being first lady during the mayor’s last year of office. Maybe it bothered Caroline when her father, at his third wife’s insistence, married his third wife at the Giulianis’ former family home, Grace Mansion, in 2003.
Try to imagine what condition the Republican party and the conservative movement will be in be in after five years of making excuses for candidate and President Giuliani and saying his “private” behavior doesn’t matter and that it’s time for conservatives to move beyond such unimportant issues.
