The Scotsman posts very non-PC statements about Islam

Karen in England writes:

Here is a good letter in the Scotsman about Islam, Moslems and their incompatibility with Brits. I am surprised that it was published.

LA replies:

It’s a good thread. There’s life in Britain yet. I’ve just posted something there under the name Larry A., trying to push them on to the next step.

Karen replies:

That’s a good comment you added. It obviously frightened the newspaper into closing the thread. The elites are afraid of the British people waking up and forcing Muslims out of the country. It is good to see that some of the commentators had good info about Islam and knew what is said in the Koran and Hadiths. The next step is a mass movement to rid the country of Mohamedans.

LA replies:

If they didn’t like the letter, wouldn’t they just have deleted it?

Maybe they just close a thread after a certain period of time. We’d have to read the Scotsman regularly to see what their practice is.

Their closing the thread could also be interpreted as: They liked my letter so much they didn’t want people to attack it!

Karen replies:

I think they do close most theads by late evening. At least they allow posting immediately without moderation, so your post could be read immediately. I think the Mail, Times and Telegraph would never let that post through the moderator. They must have liked it otherwise they would have removed the comment. I’ll look out for more similar ones.

Christopher Roach writes:

Living in Orlando, I frequently come into contact with friendly, civilized, middle class Britons visiting Florida on vacation. Both men and women in every group I’ve met have said, essentially, their country is going to the dogs on account of immigration, both from Eastern Europe and the Indian subcontinent. They all were especially concerned about Muslims. These are regular people, and, as in America, it seems the great majority of them are a silent majority deeply concerned and offended by their loss of national character and sovereignty.

There, as here, I feel this constituency is low hanging fruit for an articulate but non-hateful politician. Tancredo’s good, but he’s not as smooth or as capable as a Reagan or, on the other side, a McCain or a Romney. Also, until fairly recently, immigration was invisible to people for whom it’s becoming increasingly distressing, i.e., people in the deep South and the mountain West. We need an immigration-reform Obama: Gen X, smart, a winner (as you say), physically attractive, with normal values exemplified in his family life, and complete with a friendly but, when necessary, serious demeanor.

LA replies:

There is such a thing as piling on too many requirements. How about just articulate, non-hateful, confident, and normal?
