Laura Dickinson murder trial continues

David B. writes:

Closing arguments start today in the Eastern Michigan Murder Trial at 11 AM ET today. They will be on Court TV until 3 PM ET. Since my last message, I’ve picked up a few things from Court TV reporter, Michael Bryant.

The defendant, Orange Taylor had been dealing drugs on campus, in addition to breaking into an administrative building. Then, he told authorities that he was “looking for girls and activity.” Only in October 2006, was he excluded from his dorm. He was still allowed to be a student. It seems that blacks can break into buildings, sell drugs, and enter dorms illegally and face no penalties from the university.

The defense decided not to put Taylor on the witness stand. They are happy with their cross-examination of the medical examiner. The first university official to investigate had the title of, get this, “Eastern Michigan University Public Safety Director.” This man found a young woman sprawled on the floor, naked from the waist down, and with a pillow over her head. He ruled that it was natural causes. The medical examiner hemmed and hawed under cross-examination and said that he could not rule out a heart attack. Again, the parents accepted this at the time.

That’s how it stands at this moment.
