The Undead are doing it again

By Paul of Powerline’s estimate, the obscenely named DREAM Act, which basically is an amnesty for all young illegal aliens who have completed the equivalent of high school and who then either attended college or served in the military, would amnesty 2.1 million illegal aliens, while giving effective amnesty to an additional 1.4 million parents and siblings. And guess what? Just as with the Comprehensive Kill America Act last spring, Sen. Reid is seeking to invoke cloture on the bill—tomorrow—and bring it to a quick floor vote without its ever having been debated in committee.

Which raises the question, given their repeated, relentless attempts to drive through horrendous open-borders legislation without proper deliberation, what is America—you know, America, our, uh, country?—to the Democrats and President Bush? To them, it is a candy store with its doors left permanently ajar to everyone in the world, and with us, the American people, having no say in the matter. America belongs to foreigners, it does not belong to us. For it to belong to us, would be discriminatory and unequal.
