Hastilow’s real sin

A worth-read follow-up about Nigel Hastilow at the Spectator, in which it is demonstrated that Hastilow’s substantive statements on immigration in the speech that got him dismissed by the Conservative Party were no more hard-line—and even less hard-line—than David Cameron’s statements. These findings lead the author to conclude that Hastilow’s sole offense was that he used the words “Enoch” and “Powell” in the same speech.
