Teddy bear blasphemer gets light sentence

Gillian Gibbons, the British teacher in Sudan who allowed her first-grade class to name a teddy bear Muhammad, was found guilty of inciting religious hatred (or idolatry, or whatever they call it). Instead of sentencing her to 40 lashes as called for under the law, the Sudanese court ordered her to serve 15 days in jail followed by deportation.
