Cowardly nation going through transparently false motions of being brave

Leo McKinstry writes in the Daily Express:

WHEN it comes to the war on Islamic terrorism, the Labour Government is guilty of a perverse form of schizophrenia. On one hand, ministers boast of their determination to uphold national security and crack down on extremism…. On the other hand, they continually seek to appease radical Muslims. Preachers of hate have been allowed to flourish in our midst. Our national heritage has been traduced for fear of giving offence to fundamentalists.
