Merry Christmas to all!

Listen up Lawrence.
The Christmas card you have up there at VFR is quite offensive. It has implications, you know!
In the first place, it is anti-cosmopolitan! Scenes from the country—you are being an anti-urbanist.
Pro-ruralists happen to be backward conservatives, racists (blacks don’t live in the country), and anti-Semites (Jews don’t live in the country).
And scenes of snow. Northener! Snow is white! This has implications! (And everything has exclamation points!). Victims live in southern areas. You are being anti-victim!
And why is there a stream around the house? With a small bridge? For protection? Against what and whom? How accessible is this joint anyway? Can I walk to it?
The Christmas card you should have put up is of a starving victim on a city street from the southern hemisphere.

Where I live looks a lot like your Christmas card when it snows.
LA replies:
Nice. It’s definitely an American scene, not a generic Christmas, but a culturally particularistic vision of Christmas.
