Stephen Coughlin, the Defense Department’s specialist on Islamist extremism, has been let go from his job, because, well, because he declined to provide a non-Islam theory of Islamic extremism. His position is that Islam is the source of Islamic extremism. Bill Gertz reports the story in the Washington Times and Andrew Bostom expands on it at his blog.
