Proof of Darwinian evolution!

A reader sends this, from the Katha Upanishad, one of the sacred scriptures of ancient India:

The secret of immortality is to be found in purification of the heart, in meditation, in realization of the identity of the Self within and Brahman without. For immortality is union with God.

The reader adds:

Another sign of the persistence of the random mutation that produced religious sensibility thousands and thousands of years ago in our remote ancestors.
