European conservatives alone
Spencer Warren writes:
At the recent Philadelphia Society Conference there was a panel of younger conservatives from France, Italy, Czech Republic, and the Netherlands, speaking on the future of conservatism/classical liberalism in Europe.
Each said there is virtually no conservatism or classical liberalism alive in Europe today; each represents a small group that doesn’t have much money but is trying to keep the torch burning. The problem is the leftist traditions, the huge state, state control of the media, the welfare state and more.
Each said how much American websites mean to them. Thus, you should know how much you and VFR mean to many silent readers in Europe, as we can see from the note from the BNP member. The Frenchman didn’t know about Brussels Journal, in fact. But he did have a sophisticated understanding of the neocon problem.
