How a conservative and a liberal see things
Following an article at Politico on GOP House leaders’ fears that they face electoral disaster in November, this comment was posted:
Great article demonstrating PRECISELY why the Congressional Republicans are on course to get slaughtered in November. Listen to these so called “Leaders.” They’re “warning” and scolding each other and talking about raising money, “change,” “real reform,” and “holding events.” I WILL NOW TELL THEM THEIR REAL PROBLEM: YOU STAND FOR NOTHING. YOU ARE CIPHERS, NON ENTITIES, EMPTY SUITS. In the face of two of the most anti-American, freedom destroying, abortion loving phonies ever to disgrace the Democrat Presidential Ticket YOU ARE OBSESSING ABOUT HOW BEST TO NOT ATTACK THEM. Are you alcoholics? What happened to your character, your brains? In the past four years you have lain idly by while Left wing lunatics have managed to survive several Democrat Party attempts at self destruction and emerge even stronger and crazier. Is someone blackmailing you? Threatening your life? Are you ill? Should you be on disability? Are you afraid to rock the boat? Are you waiting for a sign? Are you phobic of public speaking? Feel you need plastic surgery first? WHY AREN’T YOU FUNCTIONING??? PRINCIPLED FUNCTIONING leads to Success. You want to believe Donations lead to Success so ‘let’s run around blaming others for not bringing in donations.’ This is the laziest and lamest form of non-leadership. I would ask why should we support you? YOU DON’T DO ANYTHING WHEN YOU WIN.But now listen to this voice of a commenter who calls himself a “Party Democrat”:
Its NOT the RINO’s you FOOL. its the GOP and its platform of BULLS__T that has finally brought them the way of the Wigs. No one cares about f_____g flag pins or how the gardener is going to take over the country. No one cares who gets married and what religion you are. No one is wagin war on Christmas or Easter. The American people have WOKEN UP and the nightmare of GOP rule IS OVER !!!We need to take in this pure expression of the liberal view of America. As this liberal sees it, religion, the institution of marriage, national sovereignty, rule of law, the language our country speaks, the invasion of our country by millions of illegal aliens from a hostile neighboring country, the prospect of 20 million illegals being given legal status,—indeed, everything that makes up our country’s social and cultural order or that could threaten it—these are all “bulls__t.” The only thing that matters to this commenter, presumably, is expanding the federal government to meet people’s needs. And that we stop torturing innocents at Guantanamo and destroying American liberties by listening to phone calls between Afghanistan and suspected terrorists in the U.S. To liberals, our social order, our national wealth, our country itself, simply exist, part of the cosmic order, like trees and stars. They can’t be threatened, and nothing needs to be done by us to maintain them. In fact we can mess with them any way we like and they will still be there, waiting for us to rearrange and redistribute them as we please. And anyone who thinks they can be threatened is a mountebank playing despicable scare tactics.
