The site will be quiet for the next two or three days while I concentrate on another project, but there’s a lot of discussion in recent posts to catch up on. If you have comments, you could either hold on to them until next week, or send them now and they’ll be posted later.
To readers looking for something to read here while the site is quiet, I recommend two blog entries from December 2006 on a remarkable twist in a never-ending tale that never ceases to amaze me. In the first, I point out how Daniel Pipes, on November 29, 2006, called for Islam’s return to the glory days of its “military, economic, and cultural success,” as the way to cure its present ills. In the second, I point out how Pipes, two months earlier, on September 29, 2006, had called for defensive measures against the “imposition of an Islamic order” on the West. I then asked:
Does Pipes want an increase of Islamic power, as the way to heal the trauma that leads to Islamic radicalism, or does he oppose an increase of Islamic power, as necessary to prevent us from coming under the power of Islam? Posted by Lawrence Auster at May 30, 2008 02:05 AM | Send Email entry |
